Ever felt Melancholic? Probably Yes for most of us. Ever felt the need to stay melancholic? Probably No for all of us !
However, October is one such movie which changes that no to a yes. Within the first 25-30 minutes of the ride you realize that the remainder of the journey is going to make you feel really uncomfortable and extremely depressed, but each and every aspect of the journey is so addictive that you just carry on.
This is not a fast paced movie, this is not a movie filled with peppy numbers, this is not a movie punctuated by catchy dialogues, hell was this even a movie? At times I felt that I was a spectator who was going through the same rollercoaster of emotions that the characters of the movie were.
Banita Sandhu makes an outstanding debut and has emoted more than Katrina Kaif has done in her entire career on screen despite being in Coma for 3/4th of the film.
Varun Dhawan provides the best performance of his career, I could write a whole review just on his performance but I'll restrict myself to just saying two things: How do I get rid of this lump that has been in my throat ever since you found out about Banita's accident? And that I will watch every Judwa and Main Tera Hero twice in a theatre if you come up with one October every few years.
Shoojit Sircar is not a director here, he is instead a genius artist who has painted colors and emotions in every frame of the movie.
Hats Off to Shantanu Moitra for the background score of the movie, the theme of October is haunting!
And a final urge to everyone to go and watch this movie given all that we are seeing around us these days, because this movie amidst the ocean of emotions it speaks about focuses on HOPE!
