Aakrosh Review: The best Indian action thriller ever, as apart from a crisp execution it perfectly carries the feel of a dark action film as well!

Movie: Aakrosh (A): Action/Thriller - Hindi

After watching Ajay Devgn's newly released action crime thriller RAID, I felt the urge to watch AAKROSH, because it seemed to have a realistic feel like the former as well. I finally checked it out and after watching it, I have only praise for the film.

Positives:

  • The screenplay is excellent. It carries the feel of a dark action movie and every time the heroes break into action is awesome.
  • Ajay Devgn and Akshaye Khanna are highly impressive. The bonding between them is quite likable and works for a major segment. Paresh Rawal's performance is extremely realistic and he deserves a lot of praise.
  • The action sequences are extremely mindblowing; every action sequence feels new, innovative, creative and never seen before.
  • The music works for the film very well.
  • The twists and turns in the screenplay are very well woven.
  • The film has many excellent and clapworthy dialogues which are bound to be memorable.
  • Technical aspects ranging from cinematography to editing as top notch.
  • The film has explored an issue which is merely used as a subplot in most Bollywood films.

Negatives:

  • Nil

Repeat value: Yes

AAKROSH is the best Indian action thriller in every aspect. It's biggest success is carrying the feel of a dark action film in every frame and this makes the film one of its kind. It's an underrated gem from 2010 and had it released in 2018, it would have been a huge success. It's a shame that a film this socially relevant was given an A certificate, which further limited its box office prospects.
