A TALE OF GOODWILL FOR THE PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE IN GOODWILL
10 May 2018
'This film is set in the time when people used to believe in Goodwill, it's quite unbelievable in today's era' you just read the Tagline which appears before the film's begining and then film makes you realise that tagline again and again till the end. Film starts on a positive note and remains positive till the end and still doesn't disappoint you. It doesn't lose the sweetness anywhere, lacks the much needed negative character and when you feel that ending will be sweet, it suddenly goes philosophical way yet manages to give you a satisfaction of watching something good. The story is set in Konkan's scenery where World Famous Cycle of Keshav (played by Hrishikesh Joshi) gets stolen by 2 thieves Mangya and Gajya (played by Priyadarshan Jadhav and Bhau Kadam) in kind of tricky situation and then how Goodwill of Keshav and his cycle changes their lives and teaches them something, you have to see film to know that. After Coffee ani barch Kahi, & Jara Hatke and Hampi, director Prakash Kunte has again choosen a clean, simple and easy story and has given a justice to it. Basically, theme and it's soul is so small and weak to explore still the crafting is above the expectations level. Additionally, philosophical climax thing has given a hint of Director's beautiful vision. Above all, Cinematography of Amlendu Chaudhari is Pure Class, camera work speaks so loud on screen that you can't stop praising it. Unnecessarily added one song which was never a part or need of script spoils the tempo of the film for a while but then Background music has enough vibes to recover that loss. Screenplay is ordinary yet engaged. Editing could have been better. Despite few technical minuses film doesn't look crap or Bad at all. 'Cycle' is not that big subject to make a film on it but still the efforts of entire team deserves appreciation as well deserves your one time watch for sure. Rating- 3/5*
