Eureka: Bad to the Drone (2008)
Season 3, Episode 1

Not Even a Little Subtle

...OK, so while I appreciate Eureka's attempt for a reshuffle style of reboot with the beginning of each season so far, this one feels forced. Business Shark Eva has been hired to "fix" what is broken at GD. If we can just pretend that an uber-level-classified research and development facility which is over-seen by the DoD would even entertain having a business-only contractor come in to overhaul an entire town (which is a pretty big ask...), and knowing that Eureka is populated with families with inflated and sensitive egos, and knowing that this special population has been coddled in some ways in order to get the productivity out of them that GD requires, it makes NO SENSE that abrasive Eve with the poor listening skills would be sent in to overhaul the place. This is difficult to overcome through the entire episode. So while there is humor, and it seems that the lives of the residents of Eureka are back on track after all of the trauma from season two, it was a rocky start. Let's hope that the writers figure out how to integrate Eva a little better and that the season finds its feet.
