Arthur has bought himself a second-hand motorbike and sidecar combination. Mum and Olive are fascinated by it but Stan sees it for what it is - a pile of scrap. Smuggling tools out of the depot, Stan helps Arthur fix the thing up.
After finishing repairs on it, Arthur takes mum and Olive to visit Aunt Maud but the bike breaks down midway. Stan then has to help Arthur home by towing the bike on the back of the bus...
A cut above average episode. Stan and Jack towing Arthur's bike later made its way into the 1972 feature film 'Mutiny On The Buses' and in my opinion it worked better there than here. Arthur having trouble with his clapped-out bike alas would become a running gag in the show.
Funniest bit - the bus, whilst towing Arthur's bike, turning a sharp corner, seperating the handlebars from the bike and leaving mum, Arthur and Olive stranded!
