Barely qualifies as a film

MAYFLOWER: THE PILGRIMS' ADVENTURE is a simple TV movie retelling of the Atlantic passage of one of the most famous ships in history. It's all about the settlers heading over to the New World, but this was made on a low budget and it shows, with the majority of the "action" confined to the ship itself. In terms of narrative, there isn't much, just some disagreement and arguing between the character types. You can almost sense the frustration from the stars who are clearly chomping at the bit to get their teeth into something more meaty but instead wasting their talents here. The most notable cast members are Anthony Hopkins, Richard Crenna and Jenny Agutter, all of whom deserve better.
