Richard Long makes his first appearance in the Maverick series as Gentleman Jack
Darby and it's quite the impression he makes stealing Bart Maverick's identity and
then getting him arrested as Jack Darby.
Of course he's got good reason to do it. Seems like Long was quick with a derringer and outdrew Charlie Briggs who accused him of cheating at poker. But Briggs was the youngest of the Plummer brothers, a rather nasty ill tempered bunch with Richard Reeves the oldest meanest and nastiest of the lot.
Another addition of semi-regular characters that popped up on Maverick. Note that James Garner's Rockford Files also had a semi-regular cast as well.
Long's villainy always comes with a smile.
