The Walking Soap Opera. Lower the bar takedown. Zombie Reviewers - what a laugh, but it's only a cry

Warning: Spoilers
To the Zombie Reviewers, if you think this show is great, you're either lying to yourself, or you're getting paid. This is a mediocre show at best. The bar has been lowered, below the barrel. As to why I still watch. It's like seeing a train wreck.

We are led to believe that between season 8 and 9, a year and a half has passed, and the communities of Alexandria, Hilltop, Kingdom, Oceanside and Saviorville are all working together in trade and trying to rebuild society. So far so good. Except, everyone is thriving but the Savys, who are pissed off and/or lazy hanging around in a warehouse waiting for food from the other communities, and their guns have been confiscated. And, our fearless leader, Emperor Rick has Neeg in a cage for occasional chats. Any problems with this scenario? Yes. No need to keep Neeg alive except for acting contracts and contrived story lines. In a real world Neeg would be dead, along with most of the Savys, not left in a warehouse to cause problems.

Rick decides to build the Bridge to help the communities. Mag has killed troublemaker Greg, and the Oceaners think this is the best time to take out the "bad" Savys. Is this a show about the dead walking? Or is this a show about people killing each other? People go walking around alone or in pairs in the woods like it's nothing. No danger of Zombies.

This is all some very basic story lines. Different communities. Revenge. Death. Conflict. Bar is low. What we have here is a show called The Walking Dead, but the dead are just a backdrop. They're not the focus of the show. The title is a lie. It should be called "Stupid People doing Stupid Things, by the way dead people are looking to eat you".

Here's what happened:

We find out in the opening that Justin (Mr. Savy, the agitator) is dead and being feasted on by walkers. Then suddenly the walkers walk away from their meal. Why? Isn't that what zombies want, meat? So, there you go the show can't even get that right. After the walkers walk away, dead Jus walks. Opening credits.

We see Rick waking up, Mich still sleeping. Normal life? Soap Opera. Rick walks down the stairs, the show hired some artists to put up the CORAL/Judith hand paint print on the deck on the wall. Rick picks a tomato and drops it on CORAL's grave. Later Rick walks in and Mich is working on the new constitution.

Mag with New Glen delivering food to the Savys. Some Savys stop her and stir some negativity. Later Mag discovers dead Jus, who looks like he was murdered with an arrow.

Rick, Mich and Judith playtime - Super Soap. Later interrupted by news that Jus was murdered by an arrow. Could it be Darrel?

At the bridge building camp, the Savys and the Rest almost come to blows. Rick puts a stop to it. This fight and death would have been great, especially if a bunch of the older actors ended it here. Later, Gabe lies to Rick saying that he and Jade were on watch all night. What happened to "Thou Shall not Lie". Gabe confronts Jade - Soap.

Rick asks Dar if he killed Jus? No. And here my friends are some of the best dialogue coming out of Dar's mouth: Dar questions Rick if it was best to bring all the communities together. Ask Glen, Abraham, and Sasha if they would agree? Rick: you didn't kill me, the guy who left your brother on a roof to die - Soap.

Mag Dar Rick and Carol find a knocked out Savior, and another Savy is missing. Another Rick speech to Carol - Soap. Apparently Rick wakes up every morning wanting to kill Neeg, then stops himself. Mag and Dar kill a walker, which happens to have another arrow stuck in it, and now Dar knows who's doing the killing.

Jady at the Junkyard. You can take Jady out of the Junkyard. But you can't take the Junk out of Jady. She calls on a walky to the helicopter people, something about A or B. Gabe followed her. Jady asks Gabe to come with her to a better place, but can't tell Rick. Gabe says no. Jady knocks him out as an A. This is all fine and good, but not great. The helicopter people are a set up for more episodes. But Jady taking off alone, and Gabe following her alone, that's just ridiculous.

A couple of Savys ambush Carol and hold a knife to her neck. Rick pulls a gun on them. Carol stabs the Savy in the shoulder. He asks why they won't kill them. Rick says "All life counts" - more Soap. Kill/No Kill. Morgan anyone?

Mag and Dar find the lost Savy. She's being held by the Oceaners ready for execution. They tell Mag because she hung Greg they are now imposing their justice for the atrocities the Savy imposed on them. Mag and Dar walk away as the Oceaners execute the Savy. Mag then tells Dar it's time we see Neeg.

Ok, so the Oceaners use Mags example of killing Greg for their killing of the Savys. Any problem with this? Yes. Tons. These people are trying to build a freaking bridge. Is this the best time to impose revenge? My vote would have been to take out all or most of the Savys at the end of the war. But now, these Oceaners decide on their own to take out individuals, no hearing or trial. No problem with that?

This show is a joke. Last episode they had Jus attacked, and now we find out it's the Oceaners. Great. Where are the zombies. This is just a simpleton Soap Opera.
