Once I saw the massive number of negative reviews, I was ready to cancel my booking but then we couldn't find another movie worth watching (the other was a horror movie and we are not fans of the genre) so we decided to give it a try.
The movie was almost three hours long and we did not feel bored even for a second (ok except during the songs to be honest).
Common, 3.7 rating??? Worst movie ever?!! The movie is so undeserving of this negativity. It was a highly entertaining movie. We enjoyed the pace, the humor, the setting and the overall feel of the movie. Yes some stunts were obvious and weak but overall it worked. Also, I loved the bird-shots which for some reason people find laughable. I do understand that the movie was disappointing to some, as a movie with this high budget and which for the first time ever has two of the biggest Bollywood stars meet in one movie, comes with very high expectations. I do admit that the movie was not deep enough, as I know Indians are very capable of creating complex and emotionally deep movies and plot. As I mentioned, this movie was not deep enough, it was a light adventure movie. The characters as well, were not deep or complex. That did not mean they were unlikable, no. I did like them but we did not feel emotional attachment to any of them. For example, when a major character "dies", I felt sad to see him go but not very sad. We did not shed any tears or get goosebumps during any scene in the movie. Also, at no point during the movie I felt the desire to leave. The world the movie created was great/ one that I wanted to be part of. As I said, it was a light adventure and action movie that was entertaining and fun. All three of us left the theater with a smile. The movie achieved its purpose, it entertained. All in all, great entertainment and highly enjoyable movie. Highly Recommended. 8/10.
