The first of the Star Trek Discovery "Short Treks" was a cute thing based in the world of the series, but Calypso is something else entirely; a short film on a deserted Discovery 1000 years after the series ends.
It's basically a two-person play between a castaway and a disembodied voice, and it's a lovely, melancholy thing.
My question is whether it will tie in with the series? Will the final episode explain what lead to the circumstances of Calypso, or will they just drop this. Time will tell.
