I'VE GOT YOUR NUMBER is a good example of such a warning . During I'VE GOT YOUR NUMBER, Warner's clairvoyant prognosticators show how easy it is for con artists to take advantage of Honest Citizens, whether they're in the room below during a bogus "séance," or half a world away rigging a U.S. Presidential election. The villains in I'VE GOT YOUR NUMBER use more misdirection that a military barracks full of scheming Red Commie KGB cyber liars in snatching $90,000 (or $1.31 billion, adjusted for inflation) from "Marie" and "Terry's" benefactor. The web of wires Criss-Crossing their city entraps this pair of patsies more diabolically than THE GIRL IN THE SPIDER'S WEB. IF America had heeded Warner's warning, there was plenty of time for all of us to move into unwired Amish Country. But as was so often the case, I'VE GOT YOUR NUMBER fell upon deaf ears, leaving us to suffer through HOWARD THE DUCK's Administration.
