Why can't the Commissioner eat his lunch in peace?
5 January 2019
This Blue Bloods episode begins with Tom Selleck trying to have a quiet business lunch when he's disrupted by a gang of activists led by Juani Feliz. When he leaves the restaurant allegedly his driver might have run over an investigator's foot. That's up for investigation, still the headlines come.

Newly minted sergeant Will Estes now a training officer himself breaks up a disturbance between a passenger and a cabbie. The cabbie is Kevin Chapman who was formerly a cop. Estes and old partner Vanessa Ray have some serious disagreement about how to handle this situation.

The most serious plot element in this episode is Steven Schirippa interrupting a psycho stabbing people at a psychiatrist's office. Files were stolen among them his ex-wife's. Schirippa who usually is a pretty calm voice of reason is harassing the assigned detectives on the case. In the meantime his boss Bridget Moynahan is hosting ex-wife Kate Miller and her daughter and they have a good heart to heart talk on many things.

For once Donnie Wahlberg gets the relatively minor subplot. His new neighbor doesn't like his daughter hanging around with the Reagan grandson. But he finds out later having a cop for a neighbor can be valuable.

Good episode to begin 2019 with.
