It is the battle of the sleuthing padres. Father Brown in the afternoon and Sidney Chambers returns in the evenings, but this priest is looking for danger and Geordie is worried.

So should the viewer as James Norton will be departing in this series and his replacement is already being lined up. Will Davenport a character who is already giving the Archdeacon trouble.

Events have moved into 1956 and rock n roll. Geordie is already talking about the good old days.

However the spectre of racism haunts the community when Rev Nathaniel Todd travels from Alabama to talk about the civil rights movement. His talk is met with violent protests and in the melee his son is stabbed to death.

There was a strong opening but it petered out. In fact the mystery and its resolution was weak. I thought it was a ragged episode. The reason being the writer Daisy Coulam had to set up Sydney's forthcoming replacement.
