Doctor Who: Kidnap (1964)
Season 1, Episode 35
8/10
More political posturing in the good, penultimate episode.

Another enjoyable episode, with some rather fun moments, the first few episodes were creepy sci fi, the last few have turned into more political themed episodes, with some pretty dark plotting, matched with some rather foolish plotters.

It doesn't lull like many six part stories I'd argue, there's plenty going on to keep you entertained. I would love to know exactly what it was that attacked The Doctor in the Aquaduct.

It's such a shame that Barbara is forced to stay on board the ship, and literally remains out of the bulk of the action. It amuses me just how many fluffed lines there are, obviously cost and time restricted them from re shooting them, adds to the charm I think.

A word for Peter R Newman, not a writer I was familiar with, but an interesting chap nonetheless, with links to Hammer Horror. Considering he only wrote one story for Doctor Who, I think he did a very decent job.

8/10 one to go.
