Three Generations Loved It
25 February 2019
We all really liked this film of the three generations of our family that saw it together. My son and I liked it the most and we listen and sing to the soundtrack on the weekends. He likes the wordplay and whimsy of the lyrics as well as the beautiful orchestral music. He plays piano and felt a renewed interest in making music and practicing after seeing this film which was Magical. The playful and joyful design mirrors the original film: costumes, sets, direction, and acting. I thought "The Place Where Lost Things Go" is a memorable song for a lifetime, as some of the original Mary Poppins score is. It was quite bold to do a sequel to Mary Poppins but Disney is really making their mark for the ages -- a lovely, happy, fun movie for children and families. The jaded reviews of adult film critics is also a zeitgeist of our age. I appreciate there are artists creating a new generation of film and music for our children.
