Kellan Lutz finds himself held captive and forced into gladiatorial fights-to-the-death for internet TV subscription/wagering audiences.
This unoriginal idea is executed (pun intended) brutally but badly. Lutz has a 6-pack but no acting talent, in which he is joined by most of the cast. Samuel L Jackson CAN act, but chooses not to. Instead he delivers the overcooked ham we have seen in The Spirit and Kingsman, albeit without gimmicly costumes or accents.
The sole virtue of this film - if it actually is a virtue, which depends entirely on you - is the buckets of blood and gore which drench the fight scenes.
Unbelievably, the ending even sets up a sequel. Thankfully, 8 years kater it hasn't happened yet. Let's hope it continues not to.
