Mediocre story telling

I don't understand the overwhelming 10/10 reviews. This episode is another example of what the show does best, killing off unimportant characters while not making a lot of sense. The episode literally starts with introducing a new couple who moved into Hilltop, only to kill them off 2 minutes later! That's just lazy writing! Then there's the bandits, who we only met 2 episodes earlier. And their motivation for protecting the kingdom and losing their lives over it is exactly what? How can they be so altruistic for communities they got nothing from, not even paid....? Then this episode takes a lot of lazy shortcuts (how the hell did Henry, Tara, Enid, D.J., Frankie and Siddiq end up captured??). Henry must have been dragged out of Kingdom, after all he was recovering from injury... Seems the writers/ directors were in a hurry to get to the pike scene and left out important plot twists. But even the pike scene was underwhelming in terms of who got killed! Bandits: Nobody cares! Same for D.J. and Frankie: I didn not even recognize them without reading up, that's how much of side characters they were. The lovely old lady, yes this was a shock! Henry: I'm sure 80% of the viewers were as annoyed of him as I was. The only "meaningful" deaths seem to be Tara (because she is head of Hilltop) and Enid (doctor and a character to empathize with). Overall this episode shows how easy a "shocker" scene gets overwhelmingly positive reactions. It proves that there doesn't need to be any good writing, just shocking deaths. But in reality the creators just played it safe by not killing any fan favorites and skipping the difficult part of explaining how the hell this all was supposed to happen.
