I'm not trying to disparage anyone anywhere, but the bible belt, specifically Birmingham, is notorious for some very backward people. This boy, eleven , is surviving his deceased survivalist father. Being such a "redneck" place as Birmingham is noted for, think "bombinham" from the sixties bombing of black girls in church ⛪ , he is left with nothing but anachronisms you see. Alabama is probably the least educated place in america, maybe WV a close runner up; hey! I've been there, and my brother too. Back to the story; this young man is thrown into a reform school for boys and begins his coming of age there. This movie got excellent reviews and appropriate for the young ones too. Enjoy a nice movie, taking place in the Carter years, reminiscing about southern nights and days. I find refreshing no violence or bloodshed was needed for good acting drama. Pax, Murf
