This last episode of the Father Dowling Mysteries looked like it was cobbled together out of an old story that had been initially rejected, with one that someone else had thought up at the last minute. With that, and Father Prestwick actually being good at something, let alone expertly playing the violin, was plain daft. Seeing Father Prestwick scraping and licking the pudding bowl reminded me of remembering long ago when I first saw him when I was about twelve, and thinking... why is that idiot in this excellent series.
