Every girl's story told by the demons in her head
21 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Nature is hostile, people want to hurt you. You are a small child and, despite her height, your mother looks no less helpless. It seems that the only thing she could do is to hold you in her arms. Then you loose her too - in a horific scene of ugliness, stench and rasping. You don't even know how to react. Meanwhile you become a woman and then - somehow - a mother. But what does that mean? The only other woman and mother close to you is that shadow who keeps calling your name from the thickest part of the forest. Your instincts are there, but they are not enough. Nature is hostile, people want to hurt you... "Paranoia & Superstition in 15th Century Europe"? More like every girl's story told by the demons in her head. And - unlike in The Witch where the protagonist finds a sisterhood - Albrun here is all different and must burn. I like the first one better, but unfortunately have to relate with the latter...
