Who's Pinching Who?
5 June 2019
Leon Errol goes to the local burlesque house to rent ..... that is hire fan dancer Claire Carleton for a show at the lodge. Through the usual mix-up that occurs in comedy shorts, dumb cop Tom Kennedy is at the show to close it down, including the owner, for whom Leon is mistaken.

This is one of those funny shorts in which Leon spends much time, energy and confused bluster in not explaining matters to wife Dorothy Granger. Those movie buffs who are fond of Laurel & Hardy will find their old nemesis, Charlie Hall, on site as a waiter to take some well timed pratfalls. Gall was born in 1899 in Birmingham, England, and like Chaplin, Laurel, Will Hay and seemingly half of all silent film comics, came out of the Fred Karno troupe in England (the other half seems to have been part of the Pollard troupe in Australia). He made his screen debut in 1921, and by the time he died in 1959, had appeared in more than 100 features and twice as many short subjects.
