Review of Mother's Day

Freddy's Nightmares: Mother's Day (1988)
Season 1, Episode 8
3/10
Two more confusingly bad stories.
28 June 2019
It seems to be a constant thing with this series were some sort of character, usually both good or bad is always in a dream like scenario were they are then terrorized to death or to some physical harm, while I guess you could chalk it up to Freddy pulling the strings, but, most of the time him not making an appearance just doesn't make the stories interesting. Here he is back on crypt keeper duty as he just introduces the two stories. The first about a teenager who moves into what we are told the old elm street house (maybe from the original movie?) anyways his mom has just married and he's stuck with his new step dad threatening him all the time. They go out for a few weeks and he befriends the local neighborhood girl, who decides to invite her friends over to his house to party. As usually follows theirs a bunch of confusing dream sequences which lead to a more confusing ending. The second story focuses on the mother of the neighborhood girl, her mom is a late night shock jock who doesn't spend time or give any attention to her daughter (she even calls in to tell her the police think she's responsible for the crime in the first story) She then gets a call from a man who threatens to kill his land lord, she pushes him on, and he does it. Everything after this is pretty much just a mess, which leads to the worst ending this show has managed to crap out so far. As it stands these are just two week conjoining stories with really poor confusing endings.
