Not the great. Would have been so much better as a mini series instead

Warning: Spoilers
Honestly, from the trailer, this movie looked like it was going to be amazing. It had the original voice cast, which is great to hear, and it definitely felt like an Invader Zim episode, but it ultimately failed and felt rather childish, and this is coming from someone who rewatches this series yearly, and more than once and this is not Invader Zim anymore.

While the animation seemed on par with the original series, it was animated like an early 2000's PBS show, like Martha Speaks, which means it's janky, CG looking, and not really impressive, and honestly horrible at some points.

The writing was some of the worst I've seen Vas put together. While the story is coherent for the first 20 minutes or so, it slowly starts to unwind and become, by the end, an agonisingly, astonishingly and weak far cry from the series I remembered watching. The writing, in the original series, was smart and funny, but none of that was present here. It's like Vas was writing for kids instead of for himself. It was terrible and so dissaponitng and by the end I was getting ready to just turn it off, but it ended, and on a flat, boring note to boot.

I don't want a reboot if this is what were going to get. It was not Invader Zim, it was an episode of Peppa Pig, Martha Speaks, and Arthur combined. It was for kids and not for Vas anymore. Man I'm bummed that this wasn't good and sad to see this amazing show reduced to this monstrosity.

Just because it has the original vocie cast, it doesn't mean it will be good. Would not watch again. I'm just going to watch the orignal series to help me remember when this show was actually good. Maybe Vas should too after this hot garbage fire, sad excuse of a film.
