Dream Girl (III) (2019)
7/10
From start to finish, a complete laugh riot!

Ayushmann Khurrana has been consistenly surprising me. His script choices are like no other and Dream Girl is no exception. This is truly one of, if not, the funniest film of the year.

Raaj Shaandilyaa's directorial debut film Dream Girl is about a man, who has an impressive talent of voicing a woman, as he decides to join a call centre. However, hilarious situations ensue once his callers start to get obsessed with his female voice.

I have to give mega praise to Raaj Shaandilyaa for writing some of the funniest dialogues I've ever heard in a film. From beginning to end, there is a constant sense of laughter. The one-liners are witty and the events that take place are sure to make you laugh so hard that you may cry.

The one who handles this film is Khurrana who once again doesn't fail to impress. His expressions whilst he's speaking from his feminine voice are perfect. The supporting cast: Annu Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, Vijay Raaz, Raj Bhansali, Nidhi Bisht and Manjot Singh are presented with many hysterical sequences and all of them play along it really well. I was a bit disappointed with Nushrat Bharucha's character as there wasn't much for her to do besides being the love interest.

I felt the romance angle was unnecessary and didn't serve much purpose to the film's plot and Shaandilyaa didn't delve as deep as I wanted him to in conveying the movie's message. If the film were to go a more raunchy route like how it would've been in real life then it wouldn't have been so limited in terms of its message. The message was revealed at the end but it was a bit too exposition heavy.

Aside from that, Dream Girl is a full-on entertainer that'll make the entire theatre erupt. Everyone's performance is priceless, particular Khurrana and Kapoor, and Shaandilyaa's rib-tickling screenplay is one that will keep you amused throughout its entirety.
