The controversial message of McNamara to the 21st century

Warning: Spoilers
It is a bit sad to reach a certain age and realise that the same tragic mistakes of an earlier generation may be about to become the tragic mistakes of your generation. I think Robert McNamara is right in saying that "human nature will not change anytime soon", that "rationality will not save us" from disaster (because we all have a limited amount of it -- which is not even close to the amount that is required to understand and handle the complex social world we live in), and seeing thru the eyes of your enemy is difficult (mainly because "belief and seeing are both often wrong"). I recommend this documentary to everyone I know: if not for the hindsight judgment of an old man who lived through two wars, at least for an improved understanding of the mindset of the leadership that emerged from the "greatest generation". The controversial -- and hard -- message from McNamara is essentially this: "the human race needs to think more about killing, about conflict" because this exercise would enlighten us about the directions we are headed in this new century.
