I had just turned 5 shortly before this episode originally aired. It was also two years before my own Great Grandfather passed away. Looking back, I feel pretty sure that this episode helped prepare me for dealing with that.
As heartbreaking as the episode is at times, there are still a few laughs. And the subject is presented in a way that children can understand and relate to.
