Review of Lamb

Lamb (2002)
8/10
lamb,a short film which won tropfest 2002 and explores the theme of friendship
1 October 2019
Sometimes friendship comes in the most unexpected forms. The seven minute film centre around a farmer and his young son who finds solace in his pet lamb , the last living animal on their deserted farm. The short film gives insight into the dark times of a young blind boy and his farmer father going through a drought.. The boy finds comfort in one of their last animals .He becomes loyal friends with the animal and every day he plays with it .A tragedy soon knocks him down but redemption is at hand . The music in the background at some parts improve the mood of this short film, making it more dramatic or sad in some scenes. The colours are brighter in happy moments and add to the audiences emotion. Unfortunately ,the film slips off the rail a little in its later stages as it turns into a disaster .The dull lighting in some scenes ruins this as it is hard to see whats going on in the house etc. To conclude i think this is a really good short film and its no surprise it was the 2002 winner of the worlds largest short film festival ,Tropfest
