Review of Lamb

Lamb (2002)
5/10
''Lamb'' couldn't have been more intense and dramatic''

Emma Freeman's emotion-packed film ''Lamb'' won the 2002 Tropefest movie festival. ''Lamb'' explores themes such as friendship and poverty, and will have you on the edge of your seat during the seven minute duration.

The short film gives insight into a poor father and his young blind son with barley any crops growing during the drought. They have to survive on very little. The only living animal left om the farm is a lamb, the boy's best friend, while their dog limps around weak from hunger.

What I really like about this film is how well Emma Freeman considered the characters costumes, the music and the setting. It really makes you believe that there is a bad drought and that the characters are in such poverty and without food, and that's what i like about Emma Freeman's work in ''Lamb'' it makes you think that it is happening right now, it makes you want to know what happens next...

There are many things to be criticized about ''Lamb''. The music in some scenes was very unsuited, it was like it didn't fit in some scenes in ''Lamb''. The scene where the father and son were having dinner, it looked very disgusting and if I were to be put in that situation I wouldn't eat the stew, I would rather starve, but maybe that is what Emma Freeman planned to succeed in the scene.

I really like the film. It's not the ''Hollywood made'' style but it's not too ''cringe'' to hate and I personally would give it 5 stars even though some scenes weren't comfortable to watch...
