The Layover (I) (2017)

Layover

This is classic movie fodder for one of the cable channels to run during the day. It's not really aiming for anything particularly lofty and it doesn't get there. It's a mostly not funny comedy about a sexually outgoing woman that relies on her looks to make it through life and an organized, reserved worrier with a long list of "flaws" that also happens to be beautiful competing for the attention of some hot stranger.

What follows is nearly an hour and a half of who can outflirt the other. With a resolution that doesn't seem to make up for the rest of the movie. There's definitely eye candy to be enjoyed but the humor mostly misses, the performances are uninspired and there's a lingering sense of fan service that is probably a touch inappropriate in this day and age yet at the same time fails to even be proper fan servicing, which is an impressively disappointing line to walk.

It's not actively offensive but it also didn't hold my attention to really be 'actively' anything. It's just... There.
