Review of Joker

Joker (I) (2019)
7/10
DC Allegory
12 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
While Phoenix was amazing from the first scene, I think DC tried a little bit too hard to live up to the amazing standards Late Ledger has left us.

Infact I see this movie as an allegory of DC in this decade of movie. Joker is the personification of DC itself. DC movies has been mocked heavily in the past decade through it's films Man of Steel, Suicide Squad (and Leto), Batman vs Superman, and Justice League. Being mocked so hard DC turns into madness and makes this sadistic movie (to kill "Marvel", who is Marvel in the movie? You'll probably get it when you see it).

I admit, Joker is sadistic, Joker is crazy, but has he been portraited doing graphic violance before? I remember him in the 60s series, in the 90s cartoons, in Jack Nicholson. I remember Heath Ledger Joker breaking a pool stick in half for tryouts but I can'r remember him really butchering anybody. The lengths DC took to relive the Joker went just too far, this is not comic book movie anymore. I mean, Deadpool is an R rated movie but still has a comical sense. Joker has just thrown them away to adapt this kind of movie. The kind of movie that even if I like, I like them better being a scorcese movie, a gangster movie, a courtroom movie, a noir movie, or a biopic.

Well as I see, the Joke is still on you DC. But Phoenix, I hope you get your Oscar!
