The Prom is about Angel ending the relationship with Buffy, after others have weighed in.
A memorable episode for the breakup segment and everything related to it, but not much else. Self-sacrifice shows how much you really care, though in this case I think Buffy would be better off with Angel in her life. However it does allow for the greatest spin-off in television history. The hounds and the prom rather weak and the speech lame and doesn't really fit with the show's framework. It does allow for the playing of "Wild Horses" by The Sundays, a great song and the hounds mastermind's reason for the attack though, a hoot.
