Review of Cri de Coeur

The Crown: Cri de Coeur (2019)
Season 3, Episode 10
8/10
There Is Only One Queen

Even in her "loose cannon" existence you can't help but feel a certain empathy for her situation. Helena Bonham Carter plays this to the hilt. I get the feeling from this episode that the writers are going out of their way to flesh the entire thing out now so that they can put it to bed, so to speak, and get her funeral out of the way very early next season. They're going to have to address the Diana/Charles situation and that's likely going to take more than a few episodes.

The acting in this show is superb, whether or not you like the players. This entry is no different. It touches on a lot of issues that haven't been dealt with yet. In all of her stoicism and her seemingly anhedonic nature she turns to the sister she's always considered a stain and embarrassment for advice and finally shows a human side. It is very evident that Margaret appreciates it.

I can understand why some people wouldn't like this episode. I enjoyed it. I thought it was pretty good. Ravens coming home to roost as it were. Looking forward to the next season. Well done.
