My personal favorite Ninja action sequel flick, Michael Dudikoff's best movie of all time
15 December 2019
American Ninja 2: The Confrontation the sequel to American Ninja (1985) is my personal favorite Ninja sequel of all time. I love this movie to death the best movie of The Cannon Group they ever made. This was the first movie I saw in the franchise as a kid on VHS sadly I only saw half of the film. The tape ended and I did not come till end. One of my school mates invate me to his home and we watched the first movie on the tape, but sadly he did not let me to see this movie. He did not borrow me the tape but when it was on TV I taped it and had my own movie. Now I have all 4 Ninja movies on Blu-ray discs. The first 2 American Ninja movies are the best in the franchise they are great to watch they are entertaning martial arts action films. American Ninja 3 is alright, 4 and 5 suck!

The Cannon Group's best movie is American Ninja 2: The Confrontation and it will always be my favorite 80's martial arts action movie. Michael Dudikoff's best movie. I know that the first movie American Ninja was a big hit, they made this movie on a low budget. The budget for this movie was $350,000. That surprised me this movie doesn't look like $350,000. it looks like a great film. Lionsgate has nowdays terrible movies on a big budget now days, but old times you had a great movies on $350,000 on this movies. It fast paced, lots of action. Great soundtrack, great music score. My favorite music score from George S. Clinton really my favorite score in the whole franchise of alll five American Ninja movies.. Steven Seagal DTV movies are not great like this movie which is sad. I know the first American Ninja is people's favorite and the best one, to me American Ninja 2: The Confrontation (1987) will always be my favorite the best one nad the greatest Ninja flick ever.

Michael Dudikoff and Steve James both return from the first movie in the sequel as Army Rangers Joe Armstrong and Curtis Jackson. Joe Armstrong was always my favorite character. I always thought this movie was better than the original. Steve James R.I.P. I really miss him I really loved him in movies it was terrible when he died when I was only 9 years old.

The story is about on a remote Caribbean island 4 Marines disappeared without any trace. They call Army Ranger Joe Armstrong (Michael Dudikoff) and Curtis Jackson (Steve James) for help to look into the disappearances of the Marines. This leads to a drug empire headed by "The Lion", an evil super-criminal who has kidnapped a local scientist and mass-produced an army of genetically-enhanced Ninja warriors.

The movie has like ton's of action, fight scenes, great choreography. It has Ninjas tons of Ninjas. Ninja fights on the beach it is great. Steve James kicks Ninja's ass on the end is great. The beach scene is the best were Michael Dudikoff is alone and Ninjas try to capture him he avoid to be caught he uses his martial arts, beats Ninja's all practical done. They did not use stunt doubles for Dudikoff fight scenes. Steve James did his own stunts. Fighting 2 - 3 Ninjas at the same time with a Bo (stick) a lot of fight scenes. You have this bar scene in which Dudikoff appears with his motorcycle and when he try's to enter the bar he got attacked by those thugs and with no problem Dudikoff tears them apart. He gets to meet this guy Taylor (Jonathan Pienaar) who set him up on a beach. 7 thugs appear in the motel room and Dudikoff with his martial arts beats the hell out of them. There is the second bar fight with Dudikoff, James and this guy Larry Poindexter they get surrounded by group of thugs and you see gtreat fights all three of the lead characters did a great job.

Joe finds another lead by this sexy chick Alicia Sanborn played by Michelle Botes who was a sex babe and Joe wants to know more about to Blackbeard Island. Ninjas attacks him and Michael Dudikoff uses his skills in self defence and kills Ninjas. He rips some Ninja's head off you can see cuts on his head. He burn's some Ninja. Than Joe, Alicia and this kid Toto (Elmo Fillis) flee with a car and this Ninja is pursing them attacking them on the car all three jump off the car, the car flys, crasheses and explodes you see practical explosion great. In the finale you have great fight scenes wth swords. It is Ninja against Ninja. Joe dressed up as a Ninja faces off second Ninja: Tojo Ken played by Mike Stone. Great finale and I love Steve James fighting against the Ninja "Stay Down!" In my opinion by this movie they should have ended American Ninja series we did not need 3 awful sequels even tough I like American Ninja 3: Blood Hunt, but I don't love the flick I love this one and the first one. Those two to me are the best one. I will review American Ninja (1985) soon I just wanted to review this movie first.

Lets talk about the cast: Michael Dudikoff's best performance his best movie, best character as Joe Armstrong he is my favorite character Dudikoff ever played. Steve James is a bad-ass as Curtis Jackson I always love those two guys together. This is Dudikoff/James ultimate third and final collaboration between the two guys. Michelle Botes to me was better leading lady than the first chick from the first movie was. Judie Aronson I liked Michelle Botes a lot than Judie Aronson. Jeff Weston as Capt. 'Wild Bill' Woodwar I liked him a lot he was great. He was supporting Armstrong and Jackson I love that. In this movie we finally know Joe's last name because in the first movie he was only pronounced as Joe. In this movie his last name is Armstrong. Mike Stone was great he was a martial artist and he was a choreographer for the fight scenes they were all practical done. No CGI effects all done for real. Gary Conway he was the blond drug dealer who made millions with drugs by making biogentic clones of Ninjas and selling to other people. Leo 'The Lion' Burke great name for the villian The Lion. Gary Conway wrote a script for the movie with James Booth the actor who previously played in Sho Kosugi movie Pray for Death (1985). Gary Conway best acting performance. Sam Firstenberg is second and final American Ninja movie he directed. Sam Firstenberg is great action director in the 90's he directed some good action movies. American Ninja 1 and 2 will be his best movies.

In my opinion American Ninja 2: The Confrontation is equal as Rambo: First Blood Part II they are both my favorite movies. 80's had great action movies and horror slasher movies. First Blood, Rambo: First Blood Part II, Rambo III, American Ninja, American Ninja 2: The Confrontation those are my favorite action movies I cherish and i love to death. I love them the sequel is the best one to me. I love the chemistry between Joe and Alica and Joe and Curtis works as a team better than in the first movie.
