'My Family' was at the peak of its powers around this point, so it's a shame that this 2003 Christmas Special is somewhat lacking.
The idea (characters being trapped somewhere) is a oft used one, and there's some lovely moments along the way.
It is a concept that runs out of steam a bit mid way through though, resorting to odd ideas to see it through (the cameo from Richard Whitely and Abi/Roger as a Romanian folk group).
This marks Kris Marshall's last regular appearance in the show (he would pop up occasionally after this point) and his impact should not be underestimated both here and in the series overall. For many a reason for tuning in was to see what his character was up to that week.
