7/10
One of the best Malayalam movies of 2019

I missed to remember the name of the director and story writer when the title cards were running. But at the end of the movie I was so impressed that I wanted to know their names along with the name of the cameraman for his excellent cinematography.

Edakaad Battalion 06 is a feel good movie throughout except for the last 20 minutes or so where the director made me choke with the elaborate real mourning by the army for their brave soldier. These scenes were captured so authentically that I think this is the first time in Indian cinema a director did some real research about how the army delivers its respect to their departed martyr and the reaction of the family members and friends. So well executed scene with each and every character does justice to their role by exibiting the most natural acting. Tovino and all the other characters perfectly suite their roles with natural emotions. The faith shown by the lovers despite rumers and the Visit of the heroine to Kashmir is so beautifully captured. It seems that the director was a little confused to decide where to end the movie and he was keep on adding scene after scenes when the original story ends at least 10 minutes ahead of the real ending. These are miner mistakes and the total experience was satisfaction of seeing a good movie. I certainly recommend Edakaad Battalian 06 for everyone. -jay
