Muramba (2017)

Superficial

A boy and a girl break up after a steady relationship of three years. The boy shares this with his parents and they take it upon themselves to set things right. When I thought that this is going to be a "happy happy nosy parents saving the day" story the story takes a turn and we explore the boy's insecurities about work and life.

The first half of the film is very slow and feels stretched. The acting is good and it's supposed to be a drama with a light comic touch. The cinematography is good and the screenplay gives a very good Pune colloquial feel.

But all these things feel too superficial and real life is much more tangled than this. Overall an okay film. Being a Marathi speaking guy I probably expect more from the filmmakers who make films in my mother tongue.
