Sir Patrick is back in full form, while the episode does have a nice bit of action in it - it seems much more story focused than something like Discovery.
My fears have mostly been assuaged with this premiere, there is nice fan-service while still delivering an interesting storyline.
Hopefully this trend continues with the rest of the series, but I'd recommend at least a watch to any Trekkies (including those who did not enjoy Discovery as much as the old Treks)
