Basically, this movie is Frankenstein updated to the present; all it lacked was a blind hermit to teach him how to talk. John is at least more sympathetic than the monster; although the tabloid press does its best to turn him into one (screaming headline WILL THIS BABY KILL? in the Daily Maxwell of all papers!). Fortunately it wasn't made by Hammer; they would have burned John to death in the barn at the end!
