7/10
Lost Millennials

Warning: Spoilers
I went to watch the movie just because there were so many negative reviews after so much of hype on promotions and Sartik fever. I wanted to know first-hand, is the movie really bad? Well, the first thing that came to my mind, this movie is not for Indian audience, at least at this point in time. Probably, people had too much expectations on Sartik romance. The movie depicts a complex battle between what you really want and what the society expects you to do. It is not a typical love story which the audience had expected, Imthiyaz Ali has tried to show the heavy and ugly reality of today's world. It is Zoe's journey of finding what she really wants, the ending is also not a typical happy ending, she is still unsure if she will be able to balance her love life and her professional life after meeting Veer. But for that moment, both wants the same thing and are ready to embark on that journey of their relationship, not knowing what lays ahead. If anybody has watched Boyhood, the movie is something like that. Just like there is no story "story" in the movie, the director has beautifully captured the journey of this boy from his childhood to his adulthood. Imthiyaz Ali has tried doing the same thing, a beautiful depiction of what millennial relationship is all about. Indian audience will have hard time understanding these kind of movies where movies like Student of the year or Housefull are blockbusters.
