This was essentially as pointless as it was boring...
28 February 2020
I had not heard about the 2014 South Korean movie "You Are My Vampire" (aka "Geudaen naui baempaieo") prior to finding it by random chance in 2020. And the mere fact that it is a South Korean movie was more than sufficient to make me pick up the movie and watch it. And it being a vampire movie, well that was just extra icing on the cake.

Or so I thought.

This movie was abysmal to watch. The storyline was so downright boring that it was an ordeal to suffer through. I have no idea what writer Seoyun Kwak was trying to accomplish with this story, but it utterly failed to interest me, much less entertain me.

The characters in the movie were mundane, pointless and downright boring. It was a shame, because it reflected poorly on the actors and actresses in the movie, as they had next to nothing to work with in terms of a proper script and storyline, and even worse off with some lousy characters.

This was a massive swing and a miss from director Hoi Lee. And believe you me, I honestly did give this movie a big chance. It just failed miserably to captivate me.

I am rating "You Are My Vampire" a very generous three out of ten stars. And I can honestly say that I am not returning to watch this movie a second time. In fact, I can't think of any reason for why I should recommend that you take the time and effort to sit down and watch it.
