Turtle Tunes (1994 Video)

Like We Wish You A Turtle Christmas, Turtle Tunes is an attempt to try and turn the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles into the next preschooler craze in the vein of shows like Sesame Street and Barney and Friends.

So, the plot of this video is that the Turtles are tasked with making the pilot to a new show as April (who is never seen at all) got the station to allow them to audition. However, they have to film it, so, they get to it, and call up some kids to help them (how the Turtles have their phone numbers I do not know, but the kids agreeing to help them, and without parental supervision, raises a few flags on this friendship).

So basically, this is the same thing as We Wish You A Turtle Christmas: a half-hour long video that is nothing but the turtles singing and doing random things. Here, they sing parodies of kids' songs heard on the Kidsongs videos (like Yankee Doodle Dandy, which here is Leonardo Has A Row Boat, and On Top of Spaghetti, which here, become On Top of the Pizza). However, unlike We Wish You A Turtle Christmas, the video adds three original songs (one of them being a song about strangers, where the strangers are nothing more than adult actors wearing the most generic ninja costumes ever seen in anything TMNT-related).

Basically, this is the same horrible quality as We Wish You A Turtle Christmas, as the costumes are still of horrible quality and the mouths don't move in sync with the dialogue. Also, the kids are horrible actors. Thank goodness after this and We Wish You A Turtle Christmas, this idea was abandoned.
