I didn't think it was possible for the show to keep going without Rick but I was wrong and this clearly shows it as Kang is at it again giving us an action packed, brutal and emotional episode filled with twists and turns.

In the aftermath, Negan is deliberately mercy killing the injured survivors rather than letting them turn decreasing the chances for Alpha to gain more guardians, he ignores Beta when told to herd and runs into an angry Aaron while searching for Lydia.
Alden, Kelly, Gamma and baby Adam are on the road looking for safety and comes across a group of walkers so they take shelter in an abandoned car and Gamma takes action before getting stabbed by Beta! The kids from Hilltop are all safe and held up in a little shack where it's revealed Earl was bitten in the battle, this is a sad and dark moment which is sure to shed some tears for certain viewers. Daryl and the rest of the survivors find the kids just in time.

The biggest twist of all, Negan captured Lydia and tied her up in the a cabin where he then leads Alpha to, only he realises she will not stop til she kills her daughter so he leads her to a different cabin slitting her throat and holding her in his arms. He then hands Carol her head in a bag where it was revealed that she let Negan escape in episode 4.
