We get a backstory to Frank who is the wizard in Oz.
He was a scientist in 1990s Kansas along with Dorothy's parents involved in an energy experiment.
Somehow the energy experiment created a vortex that took them to Oz. Here Frank is someone rather than being anonymous as he was in Kansas. He does not wish to go back to the real world. The others who came with him do.
Frank tells Dorothy she was born in Oz and he wants to help her. Frank is wary of Glinda who plans to go into battle with him.
However Frank is shifty and worse. He has a secret weapon, a gun and is prepared to do cold blooded murder.
Again Tarsem Singh's visuals are awesome. We are getting more machinations which is akin to Game of Thrones. It is a power play but it has taken episode 6 to get here.
