Sita along with Janaki.

Warning: Spoilers
Chola, the word has many synonyms like a shadow, water, etc but here Sanal Kumar Sasidharan collaborates these two word into a single title and produces Shadow of Water. Anyway, the title is symbolic in many aspects. It's about a woman, more about a teenage girl who always wears her school uniform when there was a shift to that casual dress. Then she redressed that uniform always shown her immaturity in some sort of the human walks. That's why she is unable to get a bus for return. She is silent in the way the two masculine characters put her in silence. One through sweet, polished words and the other is arrogant. But it seems she is more secure with the arrogant one. She feels sad and also she pours her tears only for the arrogant one. That's why she made her revenge towards the polished one when he kills the arrogant. So relate with the title the movie is about nature and nature directly depicts to women. That's why I felt something concerning Aravindhan's KanjanaSita along with this movie Chola. There Sita represents nature here Janaki (another name for Sita) represents nature. A brilliant coincidence.
