This was a bit of a mess. What it did for me was to show me what a wasteland TV was back in the day. It brought me back to the sappy family shows where an unrealistic set of parents raised a bunch of tiresome goody two shoes kids. The laugh track was the give-away. Because without it, there would have been no laughter. I suppose if one were nine years old, the humor might have struck home. In this one, Monk returns to being a child when his favorite character turns out to be pretty loose and writes a book about it.
