I've never forgotten this brilliant episode, which I saw when it first aired. James Coburn was chilling as a would-be demagogue taking advantage of terrified people.
I see this episode as people rejecting science (the computer) in favor of people who get them all riled up and end up dead.
We have a situation now where science is telling us that we must isolate ourselves and scared people are being whipped up by power-hungry "leaders" to the point that ordinary citizens are willing to demonstrate and protest that we are being denied our freedom, ignoring social distancing and risking death or serious illness.
I wish everyone one earth could see this episode.
