Review of Christine

Christine (1983)
7/10
Not the best King novel, but one of the better adaptations
25 April 2020
Despite being an avid Stephen King fan, I never had much love for Christine and wasn't particularly excited about seeing this adaptation. I have to say though, I was pretty impressed. John Carpenter is a great fit for this story and creates just the right atmosphere with clever use of light and, of course, great music. However, it is the performances of Keith Gordon and John Stockwell that really stand out in this movie with both men arguably giving career-best performances. While I still don't care too much for the story, this is a captivating production that maybe deserves more respect.
