What a good piece of film about an incredibly inspiring man!

The film follows Gandhi in his life-long fight against injustice. It starts off briefly with his time in South Africa, continues with his fight for Indian independence, followed by his fast during the Muslim-Hindu violence after gaining said independence, and ends with his death by murder.

I enjoyed every part of it. What a truly fascinating and inspiring man he was. I learned so much from this movie and I loved it. I learned about Gandhi, of course, but also about the history of India and Pakistan. When he fasted in protest against the Muslim-Hindu violence and finally succeeded, and everyone was standing around him saying that it had stopped, it brought tears to my eyes. What a powerful moment.

One small complaint about the movie that I have is that it shows his death in the beginning, which I felt was a bit unnecessary. I actually did not know that Gandhi was murdered before watching the film.

In all honesty however, if I would solely rate the movie based on it's quality I would probably give it a 7. It is the fact that it is about Mahatma Gandhi which makes it a 9 for me.

I think everyone should see this film. I am sure that I will rewatch it some day when I am in need of some inspiration.
