Rock Family Trees (1995– )
10/10
Oh for an re-run on BBC4.

Rock Family Trees was compulsive viewing. Even if your interest in music was only slight there's plenty for you here, with the stories of ever-changing line-ups, cross fertilization between rival bands, breakups & revivals. All covered in detail with the help of Peter Frame's superb genealogy-style diagrams and John Peels wonderful voice-over. The BBC is considering closing the BBC4 channel, preferring instead to bring back the awful BBC3 to better serve the 'yoof' market. Why not just show RFT's from the top? And while you're at it, dig out 'The Rock & Roll Years, another top-notch winner!
