Warning: Spoilers
Well, you can't win them all! After Yolanda's amazing arc in Wildcat, the writers follow it up with this dud HOURMAN AND DR MID-NITE, which is easily the weakest episode so far. This episode basically introduces Rick and Beth to the team, sort of, and already, I definitely don't like either one of these characters nearly as much as I do Yolanda. Rick is too angry and Beth is too cringe. At least Rick was decently acted and seems somewhat like a real person. Who the hell wrote the character of Beth? She acts like a pre-teen, not a high-schooler. Mike feels older than her and he's like, what 12 or 13? The girl sounds like she belongs on a Nickelodeon series. And I'm serious when I say that she even low-key looks like a 10-year old! lol Even the youth-oriented CW seems way out of her age range. This character really needs to improve mightily because she's definitely the weak link of the show.

In addition to the dubious new team members, this episode was extremely slow and poorly paced. Also the trend continues of Courtney making dumb decisions. It was really cute and funny at first because she's a very likable character, but it's getting to be grating with her lucking out at every turn after her bad ideas. Also, it's getting annoying with all these random characters like Henry, the Principal and Cindy showing up for like weird, filler 1-minute scenes. And my favorite Pat is way too mature and experienced to be letting his teenaged stepdaughter walk all over him in every episode. It's time for Stepdad to put his foot down and tell this girl who's the parent and who's the kid.
